Putting people at the heart of pioneering research

Our challenge
Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) Research and Development department (R&D) is dedicated to conducting pioneering research to help shape the future of mental health care for children, older people, and those living with dementia. Despite their expertise and research excellence, the department operates in a highly competitive landscape where securing funding and recognition for research is extremely difficult.
ThinkOTB were appointed by LYPFT to support R&D, using our 30+ years of strategic healthcare experience to help them evolve and strengthen their brand proposition. Helping the department define who they are, what they stand for, and identifying a position they can own in this fiercely competitive landscape, gives them the tools and confidence they need to strengthen their stakeholder relationships to secure future funding.
Our creative thinking
Insight was gathered through a mixture of desk research, focus groups and a brand workshop, to discover how the team felt about their current position, their strengths and weaknesses and their aspirations for the future brand. The new proposition centred around R&D being the driving force behind mental health care. The new brand identity visually strengthened the proposition by putting people front and centre of both messaging and imagery.
