Will RBGs change your workplace?

September 23, 2020

Could a creative agency be influenced by RBG?

In these topsy turvy times, strong leaders and respected change-makers are needed more than ever before. On Friday, inspirational US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away, aged 87. Nicknamed the Notorious RBG, not only did she have some ‘withering dissents’, she left an incredible legal legacy and inspired women across the world to create change.

Ginsburg’s legal career spanned six decades right up until her death following a battle with cancer. Being a female law graduate in the 60s, she didn’t get a single job offer despite being top of her class, so in 1972, after taking various legal jobs, Ginsburg co-founded the Women’s Rights Project and became the first tenured female professor at Columbia Law School.

She was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993. The highest court in the US, the Supreme Court often has final word on highly contentious laws and Ginsburg was celebrated for her progressive votes on divisive social issues including abortion rights and same sex marriage. Her desire to create change, her powerful legal mind, and her drive for gender equality have “inspired more than one generation of women and girls” said former President George W Bush.
